Year Two

In Year Two children follow the KS1 National Curriculum. 
We endeavour to make teaching and learning as much
fun and as active as possible.

 

Children are given the opportunity to be involved in a
selection of extra activities.  These include:

 

• Country dancing displays

• Gymnastics Festival at Lancaster Sports Centre
• Games Festival at Littleover Community School
• Dance Festival at the assembly rooms
• Learning to play the recorder
• A visit to the Gurdwara
• Raising money for a local charity

• Distributing harvest gifts
• Leading roles in our Christmas performance
• A visit to Eyam

     

• A 6 week football coaching course run by Derby County FC
• Entering city wide competitions such as the
  ‘Learning for Living’ awards and ‘Derby in Bloom’  
  In the last year we have had great success in each of these.
  

Towards the end of the summer term time is spent on preparing the children for transition to their Junior Schools. Visits are arranged for parents and children to ensure this is a smooth and happy process.
