Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to share information about the Governing Board’s proposal to join a Multi-Academy Trust.
The school has applied to become an Academy with the Harmony Trust. The Harmony Trust currently has 7 other primary Academies in Derby. We want to add to the opportunities available to the school and to its children and staff by becoming an Academy. Some things won’t change if we do become an Academy: the staff team in school, including myself will remain the same; there will be no change to uniform; and the school day and school holidays will all remain the same. We should hear whether our application has been approved later in February.
We want to make sure that you are kept informed of our proposal and we will let you know what is happening in letters such as this and through meetings and opportunities for you to hear about this at first hand. Once our application is approved, it then takes about 5 months to become an Academy and we will write to you again during that period to seek your comments and to answer any questions that you might have.
To start this process we are going to hold a coffee morning on Thursday 7th February from 9.00 to 10.00 a.m.This will be an opportunity to hear from the school staff, Governors and Harmony Trust. Along with myself, you’ll be able to meet the Chair of Governors, Philip Moulden, and the CEO of the Harmony Trust, Antony Hughes. I do hope that you’ll be able to make it. We’ll write up anything that is discussed, or any questions raised, and we’ll make sure this is shared to all parents.
We will be in touch again soon with further updates as we get them.
Mrs Laura Besenzi
